November 2023 Lifeline

Dear Church Family,

There’s a little bit of change in the air with the temperatures. This means we’re getting closer and closer to cold weather. This is the time of harvest. This is the time we celebrate all that the Lord has done for us. It’s Thanksgiving! I certainly am thankful for you and for our church family. The unity and blessing that God is giving us is supernatural. We’re thankful for that.

Our Harvest Festival Banquet is scheduled for Sunday night, November 19 beginning at 6:00 p.m. For some of you that are newer to our church, this is a night where we gather together to celebrate all the blessings that the Lord has given to us individually and also the blessings that we have experienced as a church family. God is on the move here. We’re grateful and thankful for many that have come to Christ, people that are growing, and for families and folks that are joining our fellowship. On this special evening the church will provide the meat, bread, and drinks and our church family will bring the sides, the salads, and the desserts. You can sign up in Life Groups or at Info Central to let us know what you’re bringing. What a tremendous evening this is. It’s like an old-fashioned dinner on the grounds and a great gospel meeting all in one. For our program we will hear some testimonies of God’s victories, and we will also have a report from our Entryway and Expansion Committee. You have been so patient with this project. Most of our delay has been the permitting process, but we are literally at the hour of beginning. So you will get a report about what is happening with this project at the banquet. You don’t want to miss it.

We have some special ladies’ and men’s events coming up. Our ladies will meet for Coffee and Conversations on November 9 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. here at the church. This is a special time for our ladies to gather and fellowship together. Don’t miss this, ladies!

The Black Flag men’s event is scheduled for November 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Black Flag Metalsmith. Just a visit to this site is a blessing! The office that’s there, the workshop, everything that Christopher and Mackenzie are doing there is phenomenal. We will have some workshops on small engine repair, drywall repair, wood chopping, and fire building. This is always a fun event for our men and their boys. Bring your sons for this special event!

Operation Christmas Child is a ministry that our church has been involved in for many years. We want to make a difference with the gospel at Christmas time. These shoe boxes are cherished by those that receive them all over the world. Samaritan’s Purse oversees the distribution, but we collect the boxes. Boxes are available at the church, and they are due on November 12. You can also go to our church website and find a link that will enable you to build your boxes online. These boxes built online will be included in our church’s total count of boxes and allows us to know how many our church contributed.

We look forward to John and Mollie Wells being with us on November 26. This special couple was sent out from our church to Malawi to make a difference. John, Mollie, and Paris are special to us. They will be sharing in the morning service on the 26th.

Mark these dates for your Christmas calendar as we move towards the Advent Season. We will study God’s Word related to the Christmas season and Advent on Sundays December 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. Invite friends to worship with you here at North Central. In addition, on December 3, we have a special Women’s Christmas event that Sunday night. The children will have their Christmas party on December 10. The Smoky Mountain Christmas Concert will be on the 17th. On December 24 we will have our Candlelight Christmas Eve service with the Lord’s Supper at 5:00 p.m. Mark your calendar for these special events.

What an encouragement it is to be a part of this precious fellowship of believers here at North Central. May God’s richest blessing rest upon you and yours during this wonderful time of the year.

Love in Jesus,

Pastor Calvin
