June 2024 Lifeline

Summer is here! What an exciting time it is in the life of our church!

We want to congratulate all of our seniors that have graduated from High School! Recently we recognized our college graduates. This coming Sunday, June 2, we are recognizing our High School graduates. We are so thankful for each of them and for their commitment to our Lord. Congratulations to all these families for the hard work and getting their kids through their high school days. There are some special activities scheduled for these families this week.

Our summer program is upon us! Our summer Wednesday nights are going to be
fantastic! We begin this coming Wednesday night, June 5, with an event for families at Defy. This is a trampoline park that is an absolute blast. Please get signed up online for this special event. All throughout the summer we will have special events for our families. Our youth are in their own meeting as usual on Wednesday nights at the church. Our younger children and their families will be participating in special events that have been planned. It’s going to be fun!

Father’s Day is on Sunday, June 16. What an opportunity to celebrate the impact of
godly dads who love their families, love their wives, and make Jesus Christ a priority in the home. I’m so thankful for the godly men in our church.

We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together on Sunday morning, June 30. Our
plan is to change the way we’re doing the Lord’s Supper by having our deacons serve us as we have done in years past. It’s going to be a special time to make this a priority as it always is in the life of our church. Come prayed up for Sunday, June 30.

We are thankful for recent baptisms. People are following Jesus publicly. Recently
when we had our beach baptism, we had several people come up and want to discuss the gospel with us. Believers were encouraged, the gospel was shared, and we’re thankful for the witness of our people at the beach. Please be on the lookout for people that need to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Share your testimony. Share a gospel booklet. I like to use the Steps to Peace with God tract and also the Three Circles Gospel Presentation. Our world needs to know Jesus in a desperate way.

We’re so excited about our new entryway! It is getting closer and closer to being
finished. Recently our people wrote scripture verses and prayers on the walls of this new area to be used for the glory of God. We are still trying to raise $93,000 to
complete the project. If you feel led, please consider a sacrificial gift towards the
building fund.

What a joy it is to study God’s Word with you in the book of Genesis. The last
chapters of Genesis all center around the life of Joseph, so we will be studying his amazing life. His life can be summed up in the phrase, “Satan meant it for evil, but God turned it for good.” Difficulties come our way, but God can use difficulties to strengthen and encourage us. This is one of the great lessons from the life of Joseph. I pray that you won’t miss one Sunday as we dig into these passages. If you are traveling and out of town, catch the Bible studies on our website.

What a joy it is to be your pastor. God is at work as we prepare for our new building and a new year to reach more and more people for Jesus Christ and to see the gospel transform us into His likeness and image. May the Lord bless you and the wonderful people of our precious fellowship, the people of North Central Baptist Church.

Love in Jesus,

Pastor Calvin
