We have gotten off to a wonderful start to the new school year! Our Preschool, Children, and Youth ministries are doing so well. We’re so happy that families have entrusted us with their precious children as we teach them about Jesus! Our College ministry is booming. We’re so thankful and grateful for every leader that God has given us!
September is going to be a tremendous month. Not only does college football begin, but we have a number of major events that are taking place in the life of our church. On September 6 we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper. This is a wonderful service that the Lord Jesus has given us as we remember what He has done for us through his death, burial, and resurrection.
September 11 our ladies are having a Worship Night. This begins at 6:30 p.m. in our main auditorium. We’re praying that our folks will invite their friends to be a part of this special evening. We particularly would love our College young ladies to be a part of this as well. It’s going to be a great night!
On September 13, we are baptizing at the church. We’ve set a goal for 50 baptized by the end of this year. We are at 39 at this point. We’re praying that God would give us the 11 to help us reach our goal!
We have a special College lunch planned for this coming Sunday, September 6. Also, on the 13th, Rod and Karen Shaddeau will be hosting our College ministry on Sunday evening. This has been a tremendous night of fellowship for all of our students.
All of our Adult Life Group leaders are meeting for lunch on Sunday, September 20 after morning worship. We’re asking all of our leadership teams to be in this meeting. We have some exciting things we’re planning to share with our Life Group leaders at this lunch.
Missions Night is Sunday, September 27 at 6:00 p.m. Come for pizza and fellowship as we will be highlighting the missions of our church. We will be hearing special messages from some of our missionaries around the world on this evening. This is a special event for our children as well. They will have a special international passport that they can fill out. If they get them all punched and stamped, then they’ll receive a special prize on this evening.
Our next Men’s Breakfast is scheduled for September 26 at 8:00 a.m. Last time we had more than 80 men involved in this event. You don’t want to miss it! Best breakfast in town! Best fellowship in town! Also, men mark your calendars for a Men’s Fish Fry on Friday night, October 16. Dr. Billy Young will be our speaker. He is a former backup quarterback for Danny Weurffel and our Florida Gators as well as the Pastor of Hopeful Baptist Church in Lake City, Florida. Invite some men who need encouragement. It is going to be a great night!
From the very beginning in 1974, North Central Baptist Church has had a part in helping folks in the Gainesville area that find themselves in a crisis pregnancy. Our organization called SIRA hosts a fundraising banquet once a year. North Central is a part of supporting them monthly, but we also want to help them have the very best fundraising banquet possible. We are hosting the SIRA banquet on Thursday night, October 1. Please be in prayer for this event. There are some table spaces available. If you would like to attend, please contact the church office for details.
What a joy it is to study God’s Word together Sunday by Sunday. These Minor Prophets are powerful in their messages. Remember the overall theme is, “Come back to me.” God is always willing his people to come to Him. Not only does He want His people to stay in fellowship, but He wants His people to get the message to others that He loves them and has a plan for them as well.
It is a joy to be your Pastor!
