Thank the Lord for the wonderful groundbreaking we had last Sunday! This has been a tremendous project that we have worked on now for well over a year. Thank you to brother Mike Weldon for your steady leadership of our committee! You have served our church well!
Now we must get the addition built! We have set aside a good portion of our funds to pay cash for this. I know you, the wonderful people of North Central, will want to be a part of this incredible project. I’m asking each of you to pray about giving significantly towards the completion of this addition! Kelly and I have committed to giving to our building fund regularly. I believe it’s always good for the church family to be contributing to a building fund. Too often churches wait until they need a building to worry about the finances. And then guess what they do? They go out and borrow tons of money and end up paying incredible amounts of interest. If we will give to a building fund, we will save the Lord thousands of dollars in interest that can be used for missions and evangelism and the work of the church. Would you consider giving a sacrificial gift towards this addition and then giving a steady amount as you regularly tithe to give additional funds to go in the building fund? This allows us to grow our building capability.
We will baptize on Sunday morning, February 11. If you need to be baptized, please contact the church office. We are excited about reaching people for Christ, and baptism is our public profession of our faith in Jesus.
Our teenagers are busy! The DNow weekend is February 9-11. We’re so excited about all the work that Brandon Glisson is doing with our young people. We’re seeing more and more young people growing in their relationship with Jesus, more and more young people in attendance, and more and more coming to know Christ as Lord and Savior. We are so thankful that our students have this opportunity to participate in the DNow weekend. Parents, you can sign your students up by going to our website.
Our men have been gathering for breakfast now once a month. These are special times of encouragement. Men, mark your calendar for the last Saturday of each month. In the month of February, it will be on February 24 from 8:00-9:00 AM. Our men gather, we will have a full breakfast, and then we have an encouraging speaker that will bless you.
We are dedicating babies on Sunday morning, February 18. We just dedicated 3 recently and now will be dedicating more! God is blessing our church family with new additions! We are so thankful for these sweet young couples, and we ask you to continue to pray for each of them as they raise these children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Brother Craig Olive has organized a class on Sunday night that is exciting! Is called Multiply. In this class we are looking at the place of every Christian in the Great Commission task of getting the gospel to the world. Last Sunday was particularly exciting as we looked at the Biblical basis of missions in the New Testament. Every Sunday night there is a new topic about how you can impact your world and how you can understand the lostness of the world. I hope you will come. My prayer is that you would come and be challenged to be a part of God’s Great Commission task. We meet on Sunday nights at 5:00-6:30 PM.
NCBC Connect is a class for the new members of North Central. We are having this class on Sunday, February 25. The class meets from 9:00-10:30 AM. Our guests are invited to come as well to find out more about our church.
What a joy it is to be your pastor! My prayer is that we would grow together in our body of believers to make an impact in Gainesville and around the world. God bless you!
